Dream Hayven is very excited to announce our inaugural involvement in the 2010 Bristol Renaissance Faire, located in Kenosha, WI, on the border with Illinois.
Why a ren faire, you may ask? Our reasons for becoming involved with the faire are many. Our primary motivation is the opportunity to introduce our favorite breed- the Fell Pony- to literally thousands of new faces, the majority of whom never knew this breed existed.
Secondly, the Fell Pony is a historically accurate representation of the type of equine that existed in England at the time the faire is being portrayed (late 1500's). Their uses at that time in history were varied, but included pulling wagons and working as pack ponies over the rough and bumpy roads that existed in the outlying areas of Britian during that era.
And to top it all off, our hearts true love is performing. Bristol Renaissance Faire offers a unique showcase to introduce our ponies to the crowds, with captivating story lines, a professional production crew, and of course- stunning costuming!
We are located at the north end of the park in the 'Royal Mews', in our newly transformed stables (affectionately termed Dream Hayven South), at 864 The Royal Mews. We are positioned directly opposite the jousting arena (or tilt yard) from the Hanlon-Lees Action Theatre, more popularly known as- The Jousters! Stop by and discover all we have to offer, including a glimpse at what maybe the very rarest Fell Pony indeed!
