Patience arrived in North America as a yearling, the fall of 2008, alongside her paternal sister, Littletree Babysham, both of whom I imported direct from Cumbria. I had met her sire, Guards Jester, on a previous trip to England. Since that time, he won the coveted Supreme Championship Senior M&M In-Hand Class at the prestigious Olympia Show in the UK. Quite an honor!

We had Patience trained to saddle the summer of 2012, and that fall she made the move with us when we relocated to Tennessee. As we adjusted to farm life down south, I regrettably offered Patience for sale to a pleasure pony home. Fast forward to 2022, when Wendy of Dark Horse Farms (a breeder who subsequently purchased Patience and had three foals out of her), gave me the opportunity to purchase her back. Ironically, Tom Lloyd had mentioned to me in that same summer, that Patience's dam, Hades Hill Patience, was a mare his father had always regretted selling (as I spent that day on a pack pony adventure guiding Hades Hill Little Prince, a great grandson of Hades Hill Patience!).

There is only one other direct offspring of Hades Hill producing in North America, save from this mare line. Patience's pedigree offers several Adamthwaite ponies, proven to cross well with our established lines, and that Hades Hill themselves have recently been using a Lunesdale Tarquin son to cross to their own mares, which is represented in our own Stennerskeugh Danny Boy.  Her pedigree combines a proven performance line, with a proven working line, that which very few Fell Ponies can claim. Patience has been a broodmare before, and we are hopeful she will have the opportunity to contribute to North American genetics once again.

Meeting Patience for the first time, at release from quarantine on the East Coast.
